Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam visited far flung Panchayat Kanthi of Block Ramban and resolved the public issues projected by the PRI representatives and general public. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the overall developmental scenario of adjoining villages of the area.DDC Councillor, Renuka Katoch; ACD, Zameer Ahmed Rishu; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat, besides Executive Engineer PWD, AD, FCS&CA and other concerned officers and PRIs were present on the occasion. During the public outreach programme, the DC urged the people to register for AYUSHMAN SEHAT, for availing benefits of the universal health insurance scheme. He also motivated the youth to avail the benefits of employment oriented schemes including MUMKIN & TEJASWANI being implemented by J&K government.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the PRIs to constitute Self Help Groups of 20 Girls and 20 boys in each Panchayat and motivate them to avail the benefits of youth oriented schemes. He said Tejaswini scheme focuses on promotion of women entrepreneurship as the lessons learned from earlier projects reflected that women self-help groups are an effective means of improving the living conditions of poor households.Earlier, PRIs demanded SRTC Bus services, Issuance of BPL ration cards to genuine poor families, construction of new Panchayat Ghar, functioning of Girls Hostel, check on overcharging by the Sumo and other passenger transporters and constriction of water filtration plant.After hearing the public issues, the DC assured them early redressal of the same. He directed all officers to improve the public service delivery mechanism of their respective departments to facilitate the people.The DC also took stock of arrangements in Panchayat Level Covid Care Centre and urged the people to take vaccination and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour.Later, he inspected the alignment of Ramban to Adhwa road and passed on spot directions to concerned departments to remove all bottlenecks to complete the project.
