The Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani today flagged off a group of 47 students for a trekking expedition to Pahalgam from the premises of Mini Secretariat Arhama, here.District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYS&SO) Gurmukh Singh Dutta and Chief Education Officer Shopian were present on the occasion.10 Officials from the department of DYS&S Shopian are accompanying the group for the trekking expedition.The student trekkers from various schools of the district are scheduled to participate in the camp organised by Youth Services and Sports Shopian for a period of 5 days commencing from today and culminating on 13 November, 2021.

While interacting with the students, the ADC urged them to take advantage of the trip and strictly follow all the instructions of the trainers.  He also advised them to imbibe the qualities of leadership and initiative in life and asked them to go through the history of world famous tourist resort Pahalgam and other adjoining adventurous places.Simnani also urged them to keep the environment neat and clean and desist from throwing polythene and other things that pollute the environment.He directed the organisers to provide enough sanitizers and other medicines to the trekkers during the camp.Among others the concerned officers and officials of DYS&S were present on the occasion.
