Govt Medical College, Baramulla in collaboration with Pal Care Foundation India organised a day long workshop cum medical camp on Palliative Health Care in which about 50 patients were given consultation, counselling and free medicines.The programme was organized under the overall supervision of Principal GMC Prof.  Dr Ruby Reshi with strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs having limited and permissible number of participants.On the ocassion, apart from medical consultation to the patients, necessary awareness was given to different cadres of health workers of the college. The patients and other stakeholders highly appreciated the move and expressed gratitude of the college administration for organizing such an event.

Speaking on the occasion, the principal appreciated  the efforts of Pal Care Foundation India  for conducting the camp and highlighted its significance from medicare perspective. She hoped that more such programs will be conducted to bring the health care delivery system in more unison  and cohesion with the national health programs. The principal added that Palliative Health Care will go a long way in  relieving the suffering  of the patients and their families thereby improving their quality of life. Furthermore, she said that it will increase the awareness of all cadres of health care  workers  about the  national mission  on Palliative Health Care launched in Feb 2021.Meanwhile, a blood donation camp was also organised as part of the programme in which some eminent personalities donated their blood.
