The District Development Council (DDC) Vice Chairman, Shopian, Irfan Manhas in continuance with his extensive public outreach program on Thursday visited Narapora area of district Shopian.Manhas on the occasion headed a Gram Sabha meeting at Narapora where a large number of people actively participated. He was also accompanied by several concerned government officials hailing from different departments.In the meeting, people apprised the DDC Vice Chairman of the problems being faced by them on ground for availing the benefits of PMAY in detail and sought his intervention.Manhas assured them of his unwavering support with regards to resolving their genuine pleas at an earliest.During his visit to the Girls Upper Primary School Narapora, Manhas allocated 2, 42,000 rupees for the construction of the school boundary wall. He said that for the safety and comfort of the girl students studying there such a measure was imperative. The inhabitants of the area lauded his sincere efforts.

Manhas also paid a thorough visit to the local Health and Wellness Centre where he directed the PHE officials to provide water supply connection to the health facility at a prompt basis.He toured the Narapora area and met various public delegations who apprised him about the deplorable condition of the roads and scarce water supply.

On this occasion, Manhas also allocated a motorized tricycle to a disabled local of Narapora who had been in dire need of the same for years.Furthermore, the youth of Narapora requested for the construction of a playground in the area. The DDC Vice Chairman assured them that sooner an appropriate land chunk will be identified for the same.Manhas assured the public that he is committed for their welfare and all the efforts requisite for the holistic development of rural areas of Shopian will be taken on a priority basis.
