The District Development Council Chairperson (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq accompanied by Executive Engineer I&FC and various other concerned officers today visited various areas of Tehsil Tullamulla and Wakura including Rabitar, Kurag, Tullamulla and other areas.The DDC Chairperson conducted a visit in response to the requisitions submitted by the people for addressing their demands in general and dredging of Tullamulla-Shadipora Nallah in particular.During the tour, Ishfaq met several deputations and delegations and listened to their grievances and demands with regard to the development of the area.A deputation from Tullamulla demanded dredging of Tullamulla Nallah which poses threat to both population and agriculture.The residents drew her attention to the dredging of Nallah, as the slit deposits have raised its bottom surface level to a large extent, which is likely to wreak havoc in near future in the area.The deputation also demanded a crate bund/ breast wall alongside the Nallah adjoining the Kurag road. The DDC Chairperson assured the people that a project of more than 5 crores has been sent for approval.She further said that till then deweeding and other bottlenecks will be cleared in coming days. She directed the executive engineer to start the work of dredging and remove the bottle neck besides work on breached spots.
