The government departments across Jammu Division held colourful functions to celebrate the Independence Day with great zeal and national spirit.

DIPR Jammu

Directorate of Information and Public Relations Jammu celebrated the 75th Independence Day by holding a National Flag hoisting ceremony in the office Lawns.Joint Director  Information, Namrita Dogra, Deputy Director Information (PR),  Gul Hassan Kraipak, Youth Information Officer, Imran Rashid Kataria; Information Officer, Ashu Kumari, Cultural  Officer, Parul Khajuria, Field publicity Officer, Shivani Deonia and staff of DIPR were present at the Flag hoisting ceremony. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by  the artists of the cultural wing of DIPR.The participating artists were Balbir Singh, Sr. Cultural Assistant, Banti Kumar, Sr. Cultural Assistant, Rajid, Sr Cultural Assistant and  Mukesh Kumar.

Directorate Health Jammu

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour and national spirit in the premises of Directorate of Health Services Jammu amid strict adherence to  Covid-19 protocols.Director Health Services, Dr. Renu Sharma, unfurled the National Flag in presence of all officers and officials of the Directorate. This was followed by singing  of the National Anthem by the staff of DHS.           

J&K Sports council

J&K Sports council celebrated the 75th Independence day at Greenfield Gandinagar. Coaches, Managers, Groundsman and others were part of the celebration.Dr. Zafar Iqbal,  Chief Account Officer, J&K Sports Council hoisted the National Flag amid singing of National Anthem and chanting of patriotic slogans.

AH Directorate

Directorate of Animal Husbandry Jammu marked the Independence Day celebration by holding a flag hoisting ceremony.  The National Tricolour was unfurled in the presence of  the senior officers and staff from the Directorate and associated offices. Flag unfurling was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Sweets were also distributed the  participants on the occasion.  Chinar tree saplings were also planted in the office premises.

Wildlife Protection Department

Department of Wildlife Protection Jammu and Kashmir held a function at Wildlife Complex Manda Jammu to mark Independence Day celebration.Chief Wildlife Warden J&K, S K  Gupta  hoisted the national flag. A contingent of Forest Protection Force and Wildlife field staff presented the guard of honour. While speaking on the occasion Chief Wildlife  Warden Jammu and Kashmir recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters during the freedom struggle.  Programme was attended by Dr Kumar MKIFS, Regional Wildlife Warden  Jammu; Anil Kumar Atri Wildlife Warden Jammu; Amit Sharma Wildlife Warden Jambu Zoo;  Arun Gupta, Wildlife Warden Headquarter;  Parveen Kumar Dubey Assistant Engineer  Wildlife and other staff of the Wildlife Protection Department, Forest Protection Force personnel, locals and visitors.

JKAP 7th Battalion

JKAP 7th Battalion celebrated 75th Independence Day at Battalion Headquarters, APC, Chanani Himmat Jammu. The social distancing was kept in mind during the event. The  Flag was hoisted by Suneel Raj-JKPS, Commandant JKAP 7th Battalion at 07.45 hours. The best deserving officers and officials were rewarded suitably and certificates were  awarded to them during the event.   

Central Jail Jammu

Independence Day 2021 was celebrated in Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal with great joy and enthusiasm. Celebration was started with the hoisting of the National Flag by   Dinesh Shrama, Sr. Superintendent. A colorful cultural program was presented by the jail inmates. They also   displayed their talents in poetry, singing, dancing and cultural  activities. Bara Khana was also arranged for inmates on the eve of Independence Day. Besides, sweets were also distributed among inmates as well as staff members.

Horticulture Directorate

Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak,  hoisted the National flag at the Horticulture complex  Talab Tillo to mark the celebration of 75th Independence Day in the presence of  Joint Director Horticulture,  C. L. Sharma, Dy Director (central), Dy. Director (Planning) and other officers and officials of the department. The Director Horticulture said that the  country is celebrating “Azadi kA Amrit Mahotsav” and hoped that the year will usher the country into a new phase of development. He encouraged the horticulture fraternity to  work with zeal for the welfare of the farming community.

AYUSH Directorate

To celebrate 75th Independence Day, an impressive program was organized at Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu.Director AYUSH J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh, in presence of  Assistant Director Dr. Rakesh Kumar Raina,  Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Officer (AYUSH) and staff of Directorate AYUSH and Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital,  hoisted national flag in the premises of the Hospital. The flag hoisting  program was followed by a cultural event wherein interns and staff members of the Hospital presented  patriotic songs.  Director AYUSH J&K urged all the stakeholders of AYUSH to work with new zeal and energy as the department is re-designated from Directorate of Indian  Systems of Medicine to AYUSH.   The program culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Dogra. Saplings of Haritaki and Neem trees  were also planted in the premises of Government Ayurvedic Hospital.

Agriculture Department  

The Department of Agriculture Jammu celebrated the 75thIndependence Day with great zeal and patriotic fervour at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo.  The programme was organized  jointly by Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Employees Association, (Gazette/Non-Gazetted) Jammu.   Director   K. K. Sharma hoisted the National Flag. A large number of officers and  employees of the Agriculture Department participated in the function.The Director agriculture also facilitated the officers and officials for their exemplary work.   Joint Director  (Marketing), A.S. Reen, Joint Director (Extension), Rajan Sharma, Joint Director (Farms), Rajinder Sharma, Joint Director (Apiculture & Mushroom), Iqbal Singh, CAO Jammu,  Arvind Baru CAO Kathua, Vijay Upadhaya, President JKAEA, Uttam Sharma were also present.

FPF Gama Unit J-11

The glorious moment of 75th Independence Day was celebrated in FPF Gama Unit J-11 Reasi with ecstasy and enthusiasm. The function started with unfurling of Tricolour by  Anwar Aftab Shah, Dy Director FPF Reasi, followed by greeting of staff members on the occasion. The Assistant Directors Sudesh Kumar,  Suresh Chand,  Sham Kumar and other  field personnel/ staff members of FPF J-11 Reasi also attended the function.Sudesh Kumar Assistant Director,  Vijay Singh; Dy Inspector, Kartar Chand; Dy Inspector, Ilam Din; Dy  Inspector, Mohd Ashraf FPF Guard and Ashok Kumar FPF Guard of the unit were awarded the Appreciation Certificate in view of their meritorious, dedicated & outstanding  services.

Sheep Husbandry Directorate Jammu

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Sheep Husbandry Complex Jammu, wherein all officers/officials of the department gathered and marked their  presence. The event commenced with hoisting of the National flag by the Director, Sheep Husbandry Department,  Krishan Lal   followed by recitation of Indian National Anthem.

Pakal Dul HEP Project (CVPPPL) Kishtwar

Pakal Dul HE Project (CVPPPL), Kishtwar (J&K) celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on 15th August 2021.The celebration began with the  unfurling of the National flag by Narender Kumar, General Manager I/C HOP and singing of the National Anthem. GM (Dam) Jankar Nath , GM(Mech.) Sudheer Kumar , besides  other  Senior officers of Pakal Dul HEP  and their family members attended the function.The Chief Guest extended his greetings to the entire Pakal Dul HEP family and said “We  should always remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and distinguished national leaders.”

MC Rajouri 

The Municipal Council Rajouri today celebrated the 75th Independence day with patriotic spirit and zeal.The National Festival was observed by hoisting the Tricolour by President  MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arief Jatt, here at Town Hall Rajouri.Among the others, Vice President MC Rajouri, Bharat Bushan Vaid; Ward Councillors including Pushpinder Gupta;  Yogesh Sharma; Rabia Qureshi and Mamta Dutt and others were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the President MC highlighted the importance of the day,  saying it was a joyous daybreak to end the long night of captivity.  He said the day reminds of the sacrifices that many freedom fighters made to gain independence from British  rule.The President stressed the people of Rajouri to work together for promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace in the district.The National Function was  celebrated amid strict adherence to guidelines regarding Covid -19 spread.
