As a part of 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav Programme', the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din and Chief Executive Officer, Integrated Watershed Management Programme, Jammu and Kashmir, Bharat Bhushan today kick started a Plantation drive by planting some conifer trees within the premises of Government Degree College, Kupwara.The Principal, Government Degree College, Kupwara, Officers of District Administration were present at the occasion. The function was organized by Agriculture Department Kupwara. Later, the dignitaries chaired a debate competition on ‘Role of Mahatma Gandhi in the Freedom Struggle of India' at College Auditorium, here.The speakers threw light on various dimensions of the freedom Struggle.The dignitaries, at the occasion, distributed awards among the winners and the participants.The DC and the CEO jointly inaugurated Irrigation Flume at Sarkuli village, situated 25 km away from district headquarters. It was informed that the area will get better irrigation facilities with this project. The project was taken as a part of ' Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav'.
