Bandipora Admin launches Cleanliness drive under ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’

As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Afsar Ali and Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir on Tuesday jointly inaugurated cleanliness drive (Swachhta Pakhwada) at Mini Secretariat here.During the 15-day long cleanliness drive, various government buildings, offices, parks, schools and other public places shall be cleaned and garbage shall be removed from road sides besides creating awareness among masses about the importance of cleanliness.The ADDC on the occasion called for conducting special cleanliness and sanitation drives in all Panchayat Halqas, Municipal Wards with focus on schools, panchayat ghars, health institutions, water bodies as part of ongoing Safai Abhiyan (Swachhta Pakhwada) with due participation of all stakeholders especially the youngsters.The Pakhwada is being celebrated from 1st of August to 15th of August 2021. During this 15 days drive the cleanliness campaign will be conducted in all the departmental offices throughout the Valley. During today’s event while participating in the cleanliness drive the ADC highlighted the importance of cleanliness amid Covid-19 scenario. He impressed upon the employees working in Mini-Secretariat to promote cleanliness to keep the environment clean.Mir said that cleanliness is the best service to mankind and ‘Swachta hi Sewa’ should be the driving force while performing the day to day professional duties. He asked the employees to maximize the benefit of Swachta Pakhwada so that a clean hygienic working atmosphere could be created.
