DC Ramban launches vaccination drive for 18-44 age group; inaugurates Blood Donation Camp

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inaugurated the vaccination campaign for 18-44 year age group in the district. He also inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp, here at District Hospital.Among others President, Municipal Council, Ramban, Sunita Kumari; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Fareed Bhat; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. Hamid Zargar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Iqbal Bhat,   and a number of volunteers from Nation First Trust & Team Hamdard, were present on the occasion.After inaugurating the vaccination drive, the DC said that more than 1.43 Lakh persons in the 18-44 years age group will be vaccinated in the district in this phase of vaccination.The DC also exhorted upon the youths to take vaccination and encourage others to get vaccinated for protection from Covid-19. He said that the Health Department is standing with the public and assured that all will receive necessary health facilities.It was informed that the district administration has geared up health functionaries for achieving 100% target in vaccination of 18-44 age group as the vaccine is available in the district.Keeping in view relaxation  in Covid restrictions in the district, the DC urged the people to avoid going to crowded places besides adhering to all necessary precautions like wearing masks and maintaining social distance to further contain spread of Coronavirus.While appreciating the blood donors, the DC said that day is meant to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of blood donation and the crucial role it plays in saving lives across the world.
