In a humanitarian gesture to ensure best possible healthcare facilities for COVID positive patients , the management of local Shivam Hospital today offered five-beds for free treatment of level-II patients from economically weaker sections.The hospital management has put these level-II beds at the disposal of Deputy Commissioner office, which will identify and get the eligible patients admitted therein. These COVID level-II patients will get the entire treatment free of cost.Giving details of this welfare initiative General Manager of Shivam Hospital Ashish Atwal said that these beds are equipped with all ultra modern equipments and apparatus to provide requisite treatment to COVID positive patients. He said that the management has also decided to bear all the expenses of medicines for the patients be admitted on these beds by the Administration.Appreciating the endeavour of hospital in this difficult time, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that the administration had already directed the Civil Surgeon office to recommend the eligible patients from economically weaker sections, if any in Government Hospitals in district. She said that teams of Civil and Police administration as well as health department were working round the clock to get all requisite assistance in term of treatment, medicines, food provided besides ensuring vaccination at their doorsteps. She also said there are 10 Government and private hospitals where COVID care was being made with 290 level-II beds and 37 level-III beds. She appealed the people to undergo RT-PCR test immediately if they feel any symptom of COVID not only for their own safety but for others too.
