Intensifying pace of ongoing vaccination, testing and awareness drive in the rural areas, the District Administration today organised special camps in more than 780 villages to get  maximum beneficiaries inoculated besides RT-PCR testing at their doorsteps.Expressing satisfaction over awareness and vaccination drive, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait  reiterated that all the requisite healthcare facilities would be ensured for COVID-19 patients. The District Administration will take stringent action against the hospitals taking  advantage of these patients by overcharging them for treatment, she added.While taking a round of village Jahan Khelan, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait took stock of  ongoing vaccination and testing. She also interacted with the Panchayat members and villagers motivating them to ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries can get the jab of  COVID vaccine well in time. Replying to queries of villagers, the Deputy Commissioner apprised them that officials of district administration and health teams were visiting villages  to educate people against COVID-19. In case of any symptom related to COVID-19, people should get themselves tested without any delay, appealed Riyait adding that 100  percent vaccination had already been done in several villages and Jahan Khelan would also be part of these villages in a few days.Riyait said that the overcharging for treatment  of COVID patients would not be tolerated and if any hospital or doctor exploits any patient of Corona virus, the district administration will be forced to take stringent action under  Epidemic Diseases Act.  The government is empowered to shut the hospital, or take control over the hospital, she added. Deputy Commissioner said that private hospitals would  not indulge in overcharging in these trying circumstances. She clarified said that all Private hospitals not to take advantage of any patient's compulsion falling which Government  will be left with no other option than to take drastic action against the defaulting hospital. She also apprised that anyone could file a complaint on health department’s helpline no  104 and Deputy Commissioner’s office in case of overcharging, if any. SDM Hoshiarpur Amit Mahajan and officers/officials of Health Department were also present in the village  Jahan Khelan.

With Three New Villages, Total Seven Villages In District With 100 Percent Vaccination: 

The Deputy Commissioner also informed that there were seven villages in the district where 100 percent vaccination had been done. On Friday the panchayats of three new  villages namely Lalota, Ulaha and Chak Dadyal got all eligible beneficiaries inoculated. Pertinently, four villages were already got 100 percent vaccination New Jattpur, Punga,  Punj in Chabbewal and Nathuwal in Mukerian till yesterday.

Starts Daily Review Of Covid Sitution & Well Being Of Patienets Through Vc With SMOs: 

Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait is holding daily virtual meeting with all the SMOs in the district to get the current status of COVID situation and well being of positive patients.  Riyait also said that a District Level Call Centre has been established for constant monitoring of all COVID positive patients by making calls besides appealing them to strictly  maintain home isolation.
