Extending a helping hand to the financially distressed family of an 11 years' old deceased, whose father had to carry her body to cremation ground for the last rites, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Thursday provided financial assistance worth Rs. 50000 to bail out the family. Divulging the details, the DC said that it had come to his notice that the financial conditions of the family were pathetic and they required immediate assistance for maintenance. Keeping in view the plight of this family, a cheque worth Rs. 50,000 has been handed over to the father of deceased girl, Dilip Kumar, a resident of Ram Nagar locality.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner has ordered health authorities to help poor and needy families with cremations of Covid-19 victims, which are unable to perform last rites due to the financial constraints. He directed the authorities to arrange for the cremation and send verified bills to his office as the whole expenditure would be borne by the administration.Mr. Thori reiterated his commitment to serve people amid this unprecedented health crisis while appealing to needy people to dial helpline numbers 0181-2224417, 2224848 for any kind of assistance from the administration with regard to cremation of Covid-19 victims.
