Over Rs 70 Lakh provided as financial assistance to registered workers in district Samba

District Administration Samba has disbursed Rs 70.34 lakh through DBT mode among the registered construction workers as covid relief for the month of May, 2021.The financial assistance was provided to the eligible workers under the scheme of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, (JKBoCW).Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, said that Rs 1000 was credited for the month of May in the account of each registered worker to help them amid the covid 19 pandemic and overcome the problems faced due to restrictions imposed for breaking the chain of transmission. The DC said that 7034 workers of the district registered   with JKBoCW have been benefitted.Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ranjeet Singh while informing about the initiative, said that the J&K Government has announced to provide Rs. 2000 to registered construction for two months as an assistance for purchase of ration and other household item and today the first installment of Rs1000/= per worker was disbursed through DBT mode for the month of May.
