20 more oxygen concentrators received, to be installed at civil hospital: Deputy Commissioner

The second lot of remaining 20 oxygen concentrators reached Jalandhar today, which was handed over to civil hospital for effective Covid-19 management. A few days back, first lot of 10 concentrators was received by the district administration Jalandhar and with the arrival of new consignment, a total of 30 oxygen concentrators have been procured for the district hospital.Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that an NGO Gill Foundation had donated to the Red Cross Society as a contribution to the ongoing battle against the Covid-19 pandemic adding that these funds have been utilized by purchasing oxygen concentrators for Covid-19 patients. The DC said these concentrators would reduce oxygen demand in the Civil Hospital and the saved oxygen gas would be diverted to other Covid care facilities. Hailing the contribution of Mr. Raj Gill, the pattern of Gill Foundation for his efforts to the humanity. He exhorted other hospitals to buy concentrators and PSA based plants so that prevailing oxygen shortage could be tackled effectively. He urged people to strictly follow covid appropriate behaviour such as maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and washing hands to break transmission chain.
