Moga Police has achieved a significant breakthrough in its action against gangsters with the arrest of a prominent member of Sukha Lamme Group namely Sukhmander Singh alias Harman S/O Balwinder Singh R/O Moga, who was in constant touch with gangsters like Charanjit Singh alias Rinku Bihla R/O Barnala, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh R/O Village Dala Distt Moga and Ramandeep Singh alias Raman Jajj R/O Ferozpur.While giving details about the Modus operandi of this group, Mr Harmanbir Singh Gill Senior Superintendent of Police Moga said that accused Sukhmander Singh alias Harman first used to recce and then provide the mobile numbers of businessmen and another well off persons from Moga, Jagraon, Ferozpur and Faridkot areas to these gangsters, which are at present residing in foreign countries.After that, internet calls were made to various businessmen to threaten them to demand ransom money. If in case any person gave ransom, then Sukhmandar Singh alias Harman used to send the money through hawala to these gangsters in Canada.Apart from this, the accused also supplied illegal weapons to the persons referred by the above-mentioned gangsters. In lieu of his work the accused received a good amount of money from these gangsters. Subsequently FIR No. 23 U/S 109, 116, 386 IPC and 25(7) Arms Act PS Mehna has been registered against the accused and one illegal .315 bore pistol has been recovered so far. Further investigation into the case is going on.
