42 Indian Tibet Border Police (ITBP) probationers called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan, today. They had interaction with the Governor and shared their training experiences.On the occasion, the Governor said that ITBP was making its significant contribution to protect our borders. He said that they should start their career with maximum use of technology and with strong will power and added that the Force was identified with them and therefore, the work done with dedication only reinforces the sense of service. He asked them to keep in mind the motto of the Force, which was “Shaurya-Dridhata-Karma-Nishtha” (Valour – Determination – Devotion to Duty). He said that presently ITBP was not only guarding India-China border but also providing security to various installations of national importance throughout the country.

Shri Dattatraya said that being the first responder for natural disasters in Himalayas, ITBP was the first to establish Regional Response Centers and carried out numerous rescue and relief operations in all disaster situations, which took place in their areas of responsibility as well as other parts of the country. He said that other important services performed by them were the forefront of movement for the preservation of Himalayan environment and ecology. He added that ITBP was making immense contribution in greening the Himalayan regions especially in inner Himalayas. Being the only human presence on forward areas, it has taken on itself the task of maintaining the delicate balance of flora and fauna.He hoped that all the probationers would give their best during the service.Earlier, Dr. Deepak Kumar Pandey, Commandant welcomed the Governor and honoured him.Deputy Commandant Bikram Singh Rana and other officers of ITBP were also present on the occasion.
