A District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRCC) meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din.The meeting reviewed the performance of banks and line departments in the saturation of government schemes. Addressing the meeting, the DDC stressed upon the line departments and the bankers to speed up and ensure timely disposal of loan cases besides avoid pendency in offices. He directed the bankers to boost up the lending to priority sector to ensure overall development of the remote district Kupwara. The DDC asked the bankers especially HDFC and AXIS banks to improve their performance in the district for achieving the spirit of financial inclusion. The meeting also reviewed the action taken report of previous DLRCC meeting and was informed that various sponsoring agencies and line departments shall continue the process of conducting awareness programmes by using innovative methods in rural areas to make the rural population aware of various developmental programmes devised by government for employment and income generation and the assistance provided by the financial institutions. It was informed that a loan of Rs.4722 lakh has been advanced by different banks in favour of 1514 cases sponsored by DIC, KVIB, KVIC, NRLM-UMEED, Handicrafts and other line departments. It was given out that various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture and Sheep/Animal Husbandry organized 39 awareness camps across the district. Earlier, Lead District Manager Kupwara, Shameem Ahmad briefed the meeting about the performance of various banks in the district in key areas and priority sectors. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, JD Planning, Lead District Manager Kupwara, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer and officers of line departments and bankers attended the meeting.
