Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad Thursday reviewed the progress of works under District Capex Budget in Jal Shakti Department and Irrigation and Flood Control Department with an aim to expedite the pace of work.Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers of JSD and I&FC were present on the occasion. The meeting discussed threadbare the execution of works and the status of works besides discussing various bottlenecks that hinder the progress of works.It was given out that 12 water supply schemes are under execution in the district while 30 projects are also under execution under Irrigation sector.The Deputy Commissioner directed to  expedite the pace of works to ensure 100 percent utilization of funds released by March this year and also directed the achieve the physical targets in toto.

While reviewing projects under Jal Jeevan Mission, DC Bandipora directed the Executive Engineers to ensure administrative approval for all the works and tender such works where AAs have been accorded so that the work is started in March and completed well before designated timeline.It was further given out in the meeting that Bandipore is leading District in timely completion of all exhaustive works including census of households with and without functional tap connections. JDP Imtiyaaz Ahmad informed that all formalities are being now completed as mandated under JJM and the execution of works is expected to start much earlier than anticipated by March. He said Projects under JJM are being accorded and put to tenders on fast track basis.Dr Owais Ahmad while expressing satisfaction on work conducted so far by District Jal Jeevan Mission committee and  further emphasised that if  execution of schemes is done as planned in  Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) road map , the District would be comfortable with regard to water supply for next 15-20 years to each and every household.
