DC Kathua chairs CAB meeting to review Child Protection measures

District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Om Prakash today chaired a meeting of Child Line Advisory Board to review Child protection scenario in the district.While reviewing the measures taken by different departments, the DDC called for maintaining close coordination among the different departments and agencies to safeguard the rights of the Child, besides providing them care and protection to those in distress.It was decided in the meeting that a district task force will be constituted to effect better synergy among the departments.The DDC directed stakeholder departments viz Police, School Education, ICDS, Social Welfare, Labour, Health etc to ensure displaying of the ChildLine Helpline no 1098 at prominent locations of their respective institutions. He directed departments to involve PRI members to spread the role and functioning of Childline helpline during awareness drives of departments especially in rural and far off areas of the district.The need of spreading message through radio besides installing hoardings at prominent locations was also discussed.Earlier, District Coordinator Childline Kathua Pardeep Singh presented the working profile of the district unit.ASP, Ramnish Gupta; Director Childline, Tilak Raj Sharma; PO, ICDS, Ritu Mahajan; DSWO, Abdul Rahim, CMO, Dr Ashok Chaudhary, DIO Parshotam Dass, ALC and other concerned were also present.
