Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Om Prakash, today chaired a meeting of District Level Task Force to review the implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP) scheme in the district.The Nodal officer BBBP, Ritu Mahajan (PO ICDS) gave a detailed account of all the activities carried out by different departments in the district under BBBP scheme.Discussions on parameters like drop out ratio of girl child, infant mortality rate, child sex ratio were also discussed in detail during the meeting. The DC called upon all the members to pace up their activities under formulated plan of concerned departments so as to achieve 100% targets within scheduled time frame. He directed the health department to organise awareness programmes on PC&PNDT act in rural areas involving PRI members.He stressed on coordinated efforts by all member and non member departments and agencies to achieve the objective of protection and empowerment of women as well as girl child.The meeting was also attended by CMO Kathua Ashok Chaudhary; ACD Kathua Narayan Dutt and Officers of Social Welfare Department, District Youth Services and Sports Department, Information Department and other concerned.
