Director Animal Husbandry Department flags off farmers’ inter-district exposure tour

Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Vivek Sharma, today flagged off inter-district exposure visit of 40 farmers here from Animal Husbandry Complex Talab Tiloo. The said programme has been organized by the Extension & Publicity wing of the Department under a Centrally Sponsored Scheme Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA).On the occasion, the Director said that the prime objective of organizing such a tour is empowering farmers and improving their participation in technology dissemination process.The farmers during the tour programme, shall be visiting some modern & automated dairy farms wherein they get exposed to the latest kind of machinery being used in dairy industry like Bulk Milk coolers, Milking machines, Hydroponics, TMR, silage making machines and many more.They will also get acquainted about the scientific methods of transportation & processing of milk ultimately benefitting the farmers. Such a step will surely help them in building knowledge and skill and at a later stage would shoulder the responsibility of providing extension support to other farmers in their respective village or neighboring villages.She also told farmers to develop a close contact with the department regarding taking of benefit from various farmer welfare schemes and technical guidance as well so that the aim of doubling of farmers’ income by 2022 is accomplished.Other officers of the department were present during the said programme.
