District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Om Prakash, today reviewed the performance of Agriculture department in terms of the implementation of Centrally Sponsored schemes and utilization Capex budget allocations in the district, here at a meeting.The DDC took a detailed review of progress made under Capex Budget and the Centrally Sponsored Agriculture sector Schemes viz PMDP, MIDH, SMAM, RKVY, NMSA, ATMA, SCA to TSS etc.Chief Agriculture Officer, Vijay Kumar Upadhaya, apprised the meeting that an amount of Rs 1.90 Cr has been earmarked for Agriculture sector in the current FY 2020-21 under CAPEX Budget, out of which Rs 1.56 crore has been expended as on date. In respect of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, he said that an amount of Rs 1.50 crore has been allotted, out of which an amount of Rs 92.338 lakh has been utilized.Further, the Chief Agriculture Officer apprised that subsidy on account of Farm Machinery to the tune of Rs 95.23 lakh(approx.) has been disbursed in favour of farmers under Capex Budget and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. The farm machinery given to farmers includes Combine Harvesters, Tractors, Laser Land levelers, Rotavators, Chaff Cutters, Power Tillers, DSRs, Mobile Vending Cart etc.The District Development Commissioner asked the department to reach out maximum farmers for providing the benefits of these schemes.The District Agriculture Officer (Ext.), Kathua Raju Mahajan was also present in the meeting.
