The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) Ganderbal to discuss the 2020-21 annual plan of developmental schemes and activities to be conducted in the district under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY).At the very onset, the DDC gave a detailed overview of the scope of PMKKKY and various activities therein.The meeting discussed a range of areas where developmental activities should be taken up and after brief discussion approval was given for installation of Sign board/Display screen showing weather and national highway update at Nagbal chowk and at other vital locations, installation of automatic biodegradable waste composting machine, development of park along embankment of sindh river besides procurement of computer system for the member secretary’s office.DDC while speaking on the occasion said that all mining-affected areas of the district will be covered under this scheme in a time bound manner. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure their DPRs are carefully considered and submit them as soon as possible.The meeting was attended by all members including Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, District Forest Officer, District Panchayat Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer and Chief Agriculture Officer.
