“I am happy that two of the State’s frontline warriors who planned and executed the war against novel corona virus from the very beginning of the outbreak of pandemic, have been vaccinated today. I wish them and the entire Department of Health and the Department of Medical Education all the best for successful conduct of phase II of COVID vaccination drive”, said Vini Mahajan, Chief Secretary Punjab during her visit to Civil Hospital Mohali.She had come especially to stand by the senior officers of the department of Health and Medical Education who received Covishied jabs at the Civil Hospital. Mr. Hussan Lal Principal Secretary Health and Mr. DK Tewari Principal Secretary Medical Education & Research were amongst those who received inoculation today. Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan was also present on the occasion. “Hope coming forward of large number of Civil and Police officers as well as the Health Care workers will clear the misgivings in the minds of people and vaccination would get a greater push,” said Chief Secretary.As of now, 65345 HCWs and 2516 Frontline Workers have been vaccinated in the State.Mohali Civil Hospital today remained the centre of high profile activity with senior bureaucrats and vigilance officers coming for vaccination. 133 frontline workers including Lakshmee Kant Yadav IG, Vibhu Raj IG, Ashish Kapoor SP, H.S. Bhullar SP , Mr Ishwar Singh ADGP Law and Order were amongst those who received the jabs in SAS Nagar on Friday.
