The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today chaired a meeting of officers to finalise the arrangements for ensuing Republic Day to be celebrated at district headquarter along with Sub division, Tehsil and Block level.During the meeting, the DDC informed that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Budgam. The function will start with Shahnai wadan at 8.30 am, followed by unfurling of Tri color and afterwards the VIP will take salute on the March Past.The DDC said there will be a series of Cultural Programmes to be presented during the celebration jointly organized by the Department of Education, Youth Services and Sports and the District Information Centre.Regarding other arrangements, the DDC said that all concerned departments are directed to take proactive measures in ensuring that all requisite arrangements are in place to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the Republic day function.In addition, the DDC said all departments shall install banners displaying and showcasing their departmental activities and public welfare programmes.During the meeting, all officers were directed that apart from their individual presence, they shall also ensure cent percent attendance of their subordinate on the prescribed day.It was also given out in the meeting that recently elected DDCs have consented to unfurl the tri color on the prescribed day at all concerned Block headquarters and subsequently will participate in the celebration.The meeting among others was also attended by ADC Budgam, SDPO Budgam, DySP Transport, Dy Commandants CRPF CPO Budgam, SE Hydraulics, ACD, ACR, CMO, CEO, Exen’s of PDD, R&B, PHE, and other Engineering wings, besides other concerned District and Sectoral officers.
