The implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was today reviewed here at a meeting of District Level Task Force, held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Om Prakash.At the outset, District Project Officer, ICDS, (Nodal Officer, BBBP) Ritu Mahajan, informed that a series of activities has been organized in the last week by the ICDS department in their Projects at Hiranagar, Barnoti, Bani, Billawar and Kathua involving School Education Department.The DDC impressed upon all the officers of stakeholder departments to organize events in all their respective departments and make general people aware about the importance of the girl child.He further directed departments to felicitate the personalities who have been working for the empowerment of Women as well as girls who have excelled in the field of education, sports and other activities. He directed CMO Kathua to organize different activities to strengthen the implementation of PC and PNDT ACT and review the Child Sex ratio in the District. He further directed the concerned departments to organise training for self defence, cutting and tailoring, driving licensing, Career counselling for empowering the girls.The meeting was also attended by Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Chief Education Officer; District Coordinator, NYK; District Women Welfare Officer, Mahila Shakti Kendra; Officers of Social Welfare Department, District Youth Services and Sports Department and Information Department.
