District Administration Kathua has geared up for intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI) being conducted on January 17, 2021.  District Development Commissioner, O.P.Bhagat today chaired a meeting of District Task Force Committee to review the arrangements.It was apprised in the meeting that   101706 children in the 0 to 5 year age group would be administered polio drops in the 5 blocks of the district for which 580 Booths have been set up.  A total of 2320 booth Team members will be deputed for the immunization programme. There will be 14 transit teams and 10 mobile teams.The meeting was further informed that 116 supervisors would oversee IPPI booths for the smooth conduct of the immunization.To ensure the easy availability of the vaccine at the vaccine booths, 35 vaccine delivery points will be established in the district.It was apprised that a door to door immunization campaign will also be conducted to cover every targeted child. The services of health workers along with supervisory teams, Anganwadi workers and Asha workers and employees of education department have also been sought for proper execution and monitoring of the immunization process.The DDC also reviewed the action plan devised for the effective implementation of the Covid vaccine drive in the district.The present status of the availability of logistical support, man power, vaccination points etc were discussed during the meeting.ADC Kathua Atul Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Principal Medical College Kathua, District Youth Coordinator NYK and BMOs attended the meeting.
