No more bumpy ride at Focal Point Channalon

The Focal Point Channalon will no longer offer a bumpy ride as the infrastructure upgradation will be completed by March 2021, said Member Parliament Manish Tewari after the meeting held to take stock of the infrastructure upgradation works at the focal point.Expressing satisfaction over the pace of the work he informed that the 5 km stretch of laying concrete roads will cost around Rs. 480 lakh while another 90 lac is being spent on the construction of boundary wall, laying pavers and developing green belt. “The work has of course been hit by the outbreak of endemic but the officers have assured completion in about five months,” said he.The tendering process of the project worth Rs107 lakh to ensure the freshwater supply is complete and the work will commence soon. In the meanwhile, the water from STP after being treated is to be provided for horticulture purpose and laying of pipes for this is complete; about Rs. 70 lakh have been incurred on it.

The Member Parliament not only assessed the ongoing works but also interacted with local industrial unit owners. As sought by the industrialists, Mr Tewari  asked the officers concerned to include the installation of LED street lights in the focal point area in the ongoing upgradation works and commence the work at the earliest.Earlier, the MP visited Kachi Mandi Badali road, Kurali in tehsil Kharar.
