B2V-3: DDC Kathua visits Dhar Mahanpur block; presides over Gram Sabha, distributes Sports Kit

District Development Commissioner Kathua O.P. Bhagat today described the Back to Village initiative as a mega mission for development, strengthening of PRIs and providing accessible governance to the rural populace.He was interacting with the public at Panchayat Ghar Dhamlar and Panchayat Mahanpur-A of block Mahanpur during Gram Sabha proceedings.ADC Basohli, Tilak Raj Thapa, BDO Mahanpur Paramdeep Singh, PRIs and a large number of locals were present.The PRIs highlighted the problems related to low power voltage, poor mobile connectivity, lack of road connectivity and demanded up-gradation of local middle school to high school.The DDC assured people  that all the genuine demands will be redressed in a time bound manner. He also participated in Poshan Mah activities organised by ICDS Department and inspected  stalls put up by the department of Agriculture.The DDC also distributed Sports kits among the local children.Meanwhile, similar activities were witnessed  in all 6 Blocks of Kathua District on the second day of B2V-3 programme.SDM Bani Joginder Singh Jasrotia also presided over Gram Sabha Proceedings in Panchayat Bani and listened to people’s issues, A  Sports event was also held on the occasion.

At block Bani,  Greh Parvesh was held for  PMAY house  beneficiary Mushtaq Ahmed of Lowang-South panchayat which was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.30Lakh. The Visiting officer inspected ongoing construction of Panchayat Ghar and PMAY house at Panchayat Lowang-North.The Visiting officer inaugurated the newly constructed lanes at Panchayat Goshal. The lanes were  constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2 Lakh in convergence of MGNREGA and 14th  F.C funds.At Dambra-East Panchayat, the Visiting Officer inspected MGNREGA road work, discussed the MGNREGA plan. An awareness programme was also held by  Banks on the occasion. The visiting officer inspected PMAY construction work, inspected RDD works at panchayat Bhagoka in Duggan block in Bani sub division.An awareness drive was held on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Dhaggar Panchayat of Block Bani.Bal Sabha was  organised at Panchayat Ghar Chaloge in Block Bani where Visiting Officers  imparted awareness about Covid-19 and other health related issues to the young children.Gram Sabhas, interactive meetings with PRIs, inspection of health institutions and distribution of different kits among beneficiaries were also held in other Panchayats of the district.Mahila Sabhas and Chupaals were also held to ensure maximum participation of all the stakeholders in identifying and planning the works.
