DDC visits various Blocks of Shopian

As part of Block Diwas, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin today visited various Blocks of Shopian.The DDC interacted with the prominent citizens of villages, listened to their demands and assured for early settlement of their issues.He said that Jan Abhiyan/ Awami Muhim programme has been launched in all Panchayats of the district and Block coordinators have been appointed in each block for successful implementation of the programme.The DDC said that BDC chairpersons have been directed to chalk out the plan for carrying out the works at Panchayat level in the common interest of the people.He informed that Block Diwas will be held on every Wednesday of this month besides public hearing programme will be conducted from 10:30 am to 11:30 am during which the issues pertaining to the general public will be listened to and redressed on spot by the designated Officers.The DDC said that B2V-3 will concentrate on implementation and execution of developmental schemes on the ground as well as strengthening grievance redressal mechanism.During the programme the people put forth various demands and highlighted issues that include fresh drinking water facility, road connectivity, uninterrupted power supply, construction of Nayabad Building at Kaprin, Degree College for Kaprin and play field for youth of these areas.DDC gave a patient hearing and assured that all their genuine demands and issues raised will be addressed as soon as possible.The DDC also inaugurated two kitchen gardens by sowing various seeds in these kitchen gardens at GHSS Ramnagri and GHS Kullar Shopian.He also stressed for strict adherence to the COVID-19 SOP’s and guidelines issued by the Government to avoid spread of virus.
