Block Diwas held in all 11 blocks of district Kulgam

Block Diwas was today held in all 11 blocks of district Kulgam with people thronging the venue in large numbers to highlight their issues, grievances and demands to the officers from line departments for on spot redressal.During the Block Diwas officers and officials of line departments remained busy with listening to grievances and their redressal, awareness, registration and distribution programme.Eligible persons were also enrolled under Individual Beneficiary Schemes and Social Security Schemes, distribution of various certificates including Domicile, RBA, Income, OBC and other certificates besides distribution of job cards was also carried out during the Block Diwas.For effective monitoring of this programme, the District Administration has designated Nodal Officers for all Blocks of the District to monitor the activities and the Block devas is scheduled to be held on every Wednesday in all blocks during this month.Meanwhile to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat also visited Block Kulgam where he presided over a mega function organized in connection with the Block Divas.On the occasion, DC distributed several certificates including, Domicile, RBA, Income, OBC certificates, Job cards among peopleLater he also visited Kund and other blocks and complimented the participants and urged the people to come forward and avail benefits of the programme. He also reiterated that administration is committed to deliver public services effectively and efficiently. The DC also urged the people to use masks and follow all guidelines to stay safe from COVID-19.Among others, ACD/DPO, DSP-DAR, and other district and sectoral officers besides PRI representatives were present on the occasion.
