GDC Kishtwar holds ‘Campus Cleanliness Drive' to mark Gandhi Jayanti

A ‘Campus Cleanliness Drive' was today organised by Government Degree College Kishtwar to mark the 151st Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.The event was held under the supervision of College Principal, Prof. Anirudh Sharma and in collaboration with J&K Eco-watch Organization.During the drive, the staff members and volunteers of JK Ecowatch Organization participated actively. They were provided gloves, sanitizers and refreshment. The programme focused on cleaning up college campuses and creating awareness among the students.Earlier, the programme started with the speech of the Principal, Prof Anirudh Sharma. He expressed his views on the importance of cleanliness in daily life and emphasised that Gandhiji believed that Cleanliness is next to godliness.  He further added that cleanliness drive needs to be made a regular phenomenon and its values be inculcated in our lives to keep the surroundings clean.The programme was organised under the convenorship of Prof. Sonika Sen. The organising committee has planned other activities like online quiz, plantation drive, online painting competition in coming days to celebrate the Gandhi Jayanti.
