90-Kms road length to be macadamized this year: DC Bandipora

With the start of macadamisation work, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday said that the district administration has set a target to macadamize 90 kilometres of roads in the district.The DDC said this while inaugurating the macadamization of roads taken up under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) at Garoora and added that the macadamization has been started across the district and shall be completed within the set deadline of the current macadamization period.He while inspecting the ongoing macadamization on 5-kilometer Garoora-Bashnar road being constructed under PMGSY directed the concerned officers to use quality material as per the standard so that people of the area get benefited by this road connectivity.Dr Owais said that the patch work where ever required shall also be carried out simultaneously.While interacting with the people, DC Bandipora said the district administration is committed to provide transparent and good governance to the people besides ensuring availability of basic amenities at their doorsteps with special focus on better roads in rural and far-flung areas.He urged all officers to work in tandem with concerned agencies to ensure people’s problems are resolved at the earliest.
