Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, K K Sidha today chaired a meeting of officers to review Eid-ul-Adha arrangements. The meeting discussed threadbare rate structure and quality parameters of sacrificial animals and decided that 16 sale centers for sheep and goats at all block headquarters will be available to the people.The DC directed that a team headed by Tehsildar consisting of officials from police, Consumers Affairs and Public Distributions and Sheep Husbandry departments would be constituted for monitoring rates at the identified sale locations.The sectoral heads of PDD, Jal Shakti and Municipalities were directed to ensure uninterrupted power, water facilities and sanitation during the festival days.The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned to ensure availability of chicken for sale on the government approved rates, cautioning against overcharging and sale of unhealthy broilers.He said anybody found violating the rate structure will be sternly dealt under law. Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDMs, CMO, Executive Engineers of PDD and PHE besides all sectoral officers attended the meeting.
