The Addl. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh today inaugurated a Kisan Mela held under ‘Kisan Pakhwada’ organized by Department of Agriculture and Allied Sectors at Agriculture Complex Mattan.On the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers to provide all facilities required by the farmers to augment their agricultural produce and advised the agricultural community present on the occasion to cooperate with departments and reap the benefits of schemes under implementation in the district.He also visited the various stalls installed by the agriculture and allied departmentsThe objectives highlighted during Kisan Pakhwada were to achieve cent percent coverage under Kisan Credit Card scheme, all farm-operating families and raise awareness about Farmers Welfare Schemes like PM Kisan, PM Mandhan, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and other schemes.The Chief Agriculture Officer, District Horticulture officer, District Animal Husbandry officer and other officers of the concerned departments created awareness among the farmer community about the different centrally sponsored schemes under implementation through their respective departments.Besides officers and officials of the concerned departments the Kisan Pakhwada   was attended by a good number of farmers and they exhibited keen interest in the schemes.
