Lt Gen TS Shergill, Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Tuesday, praised District Administration Mansa’s efforts to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.I pay my  compliments to the district administration for combating against the Coronavirus as the complete machinery of the district including Administration, Health and Police are devoted  to fighting the virus,” he said.Gen Shergill was chairing a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Mansa Gurpal Singh Chahal and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Narinder  Bhargav. OSD Karanveer Singh and Guardians of Governance (GoGs) led by district head RS Chahal were also present in the meeting.While appreciating the efforts of the GOGs  in fighting COVID-19 and also helping the District Administration in conducting smooth wheat procurement. He said that GOGs has earned the “respect” which can’t be purchased.   While exhorting GOGs to work along with the District Commissioner and SSP, he also urged his teams of ex-servicemen to assume a new role by making people aware of  precautionary measures needed to be taken for prevention of coronavirus at ground-level.After holding a meeting with the officials, Gen Shergill also visited District Grain Market  to take stock of the ongoing Wheat Procurement and lifting.Deputy Commissioner Gurpal Singh Chahal apprised the Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab that wheat  procurement has been going smooth in the district and the administration has been ensuring to purchase every single grain of the farmers’ produce.
