Administration Starts Counseling Of The People Including Pilgrims Quarantined At The Local Meritorious School

In a unique initiative the Jalandhar administration today held counseling sessions for the 246 people including the pilgrims from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded who were quarantined at the local Meritorious School for Children to ensure that their well being.The initiative that was the brainchild of the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar was aimed at ensuring that the pilgrims and other people, who have been quarantined here after returning to the state from other place, remain stress free. Both the officers have directed the health department to ensure regular counseling sessions for these people so that they do not face any sort of problem. They had categorically told the held department to ensure that the compliance of these directions after which a team comprising Senior Medical Officer Dr. Raman Kumar, Dr. Bhupinder Singh and Dr. Manpreet Kaur held the counseling session for the people who have been quarantined at the school.Due to wide spread Covid 19 pandemic there was a natural scare amongst all the minds and since these people have been away from their homes since long, so it was quite natural that they would have been in state of distress, due to which this counseling sessions have been started. The mental health counseling was aimed at ensuring that these people who have been quarantined in the school were able to overcome mental depression, if any. The Counseling of these people was necessary for boosting their psychological morale in this hour of distress thereby ensuring their overall well being. The Counseling sessions would be held in the quarantine centre for keeping the people including pilgrims, students, labourers and others in high morale.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also visited the school and inspected the arrangements for the people quarantined at the school. They said that the district administration was duty bound to ensure comfortable stay for these people. They said that already a robust mechanism has been evolved for making necessary arrangements for food, boarding and lodging for these people.On the occasion Dr. Raman Kumar and the District Education Officer Mr. Harinder Pal Singh briefed the officers about the elaborate arrangements put in place by the district administration.
