To take appraisal of various ongoing developmental projects amid COVID-19 scare, District Development Commissioner Baramulla (DDC), Dr G N Itoo today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the pace and status of various ongoing developmental and other languishing projects in the district. The meeting also took an appraisal of physical and financial achievements made under annual district Capex Budget plan. Meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, SE R&B, CEO, CMO, other district and sectoral officers.On the occasion, a threadbare discussion with regard to the progress of various developmental projects undertaken in Rural Development, Education, Health and other sectors, was held in which DDC stressed for ensuring that all the undertaken projects are not affected due to present circumstances. He also directed to keep in consideration all the requisite health advisories and emphasized for accelerating the pace of work so that desired results are achieved in a time bound manner.Dr. Itoo also reviewed the progress of works under the languishing projects scheme and exhorted for mobilizing additional men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame besides ensuring productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.Later, the DC chaired a separate meeting with the Executive Officers and other functionaries of municipalities to review the functioning of MCs in the wake of prevailing circumstances emerging due to COVID-19 outbreak.He directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper sanitation in and around the vital locations, terming hygiene important for containing the virus. He also stressed for undertaking massive fumigation drives and assured every possible support in this regard.Moreover, DC directed the concerned to extend the range of operation and include rural areas adjoining to urban centers with the support from rural development department.
