Farooq Khan Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, holding the charge of Haj & Auqaf Department today presented a cheque of Rs 5 crores to the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, on behalf of the J&K Haj & Auqaf Department, as a contribution towards J&K Relief Fund.Out of the donation of Rs 5 cr, contribution of Rs 3 cr came from Auqaf Islamia Ziyarat Shahdara Sharief, while Auqaf Islamia Jammu and erstwhile Muslim Wakf Board Kashmir contributed the amount of Rs 1 cr each towards the efforts being undertaken by the Government to prevent and contain COVID-19 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.The Lt Governor appreciated the efforts of Advisor Khan and outlined the collective responsibility of individuals, institutions, and organizations for coming forward to play their role in protecting communities and fellow countrymen in this time of crisis.Pertinently, Advisor Khan has contributed his one month’s salary towards J&K Relief Fund.Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department was also present on the occasion.
