The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma on Tuesday ordered constitution of village-level teams of various departments to make the people aware about the Corona Virus and preventive measures to keep this flu at bay.Presiding over a meeting of district-level COVID 19 management group of various departments in his office, Mr Sharma said that these teams comprising Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) and Anganwari Workers, along with other departments to undertake house to house visit for educating every resident about the precautionary steps for checking the spread of flu.He asked the health and women and child development departments to prepare the comprehensive schedule about the training of the health workers at the earliest. He said that the training of the workers will ensure that the residents get cleared about the symptoms of the Corona Virus and all misconceptions get dispelled.The Deputy Commissioner further told that it was a matter of satisfaction that so far no case of Corona Virus has been detected in the district. Mr Sharma said that screening of people with travel history of Corona Virus inflicted countries was also being done vigorously.Further, taking stock of the activities being done by all the departments to check the Corona Virus, the Deputy Commissioner said that the work being done by every department was satisfactory. He asked all the departments to further carry on their work with missionary zeal and contribute to this great service towards humanity.Mr Sharma said that precaution was the only way to check the spread of the Corona Virus in the district and all of us were duty-bound for this noble cause. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Arun Saini, SDM-2 Mr Rahul Sindhu, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawla, District Education Officers Mr Harinder Pal Singh, Mr Ram Pal, District Program Officer Mr Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, District Epidemiologist Dr Shobna, and others were present.
