DM Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today issued necessary directions under section 34 of the National Disaster Management Act 2005 ( DM, Act) to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in Udhampur district.In this regard, the DM suspended the operation of Langar/Bhandaras , Dhaba, Bars, Restaurants, Hotels, Food courts, road side eateries , Shopping complex etc and banned Social, religious or ritualistic events, Conferences, Events, Rallies Dharnas, protests involving more than 04 till March, 31, 2020 in district Udhampur.Meanwhile, the ARTO Udhampur was asked to ensure sanitization of public and private transport at regular intervals with prescribed disinfectant and also asked to sensitize the drivers and cleaners.The Municipalities across the district were directed to sanitize the public places particularly Bus/ Taxi/ Auto stands, Sabzi Mandi’s Railway stations, Market areas etc and also sensitize the sanitization staff.Lead bank Manager Udhampur shall ensure that all bank branches in Udhampur are sanitized properly with prescribed disinfectant and sanitization the staff.However, there shall be no restriction on movement of people for buying grocery and daily household articles. The whole sellers, fruit and Sabzi mandis will remain open and ensure providing of essential supplies to the public.Earlier, order for closure of Schools/ Colleges and Hotels at Patnitop till 31st March 2020 were also issued. Anybody obstructing employees/ Officials to discharge his /her duty will be penalized under DMA.
