Several media delegations and journalists today called on the Sub-Committee of the Press Council of India (PCI) to study media scenario in Jammu & Kashmir and apprised it of various issues and challenges facing media in Kashmir.The three member team is headed by Balwinder Singh Jammu and it comprises Kamal Nain Narang and Syed Raza Hussain Rizvi as its members. They are on a four day visit to Srinagar.The delegations which interacted with the PCI team included representatives of J&K Editors Forum, Kashmir Press Club, Video Journalists Association of Kashmir besides other senior journalists working for various national and international media outlets.The delegations and journalists apprised the PCI team of various issues related to working of media in Kashmir. They also sought redressal of various issues confronting them.The PCI team gave a patient hearing to the journalists and assured them that their issues will be taken up at appropriate levels.
