A delegation of the Punjab State District Office Employees Union of the Revenue department today called on the Punjab Revenue Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar here at his  office.During the deliberations with the Minister the Union flagged several demands before him, most of which accepted. Mr. Kangar gave in principle approval to reduce the  eligibility of promotion from Senior Assistant to Naib Tehsildar from existing five years to four years. He also gave in principle approval for creation of new posts at the newly  created Sub Divisions.The Minister also assured the delegation led by President Mr. Gurnam Singh Virk and General Secretary Mr. Joginder Kumar Zira that the proposal for  changing the nomenclature of posts of Junior Scale Stenographer and Senior Scale Stenographer to Junior Stenographer and Senior Stenographer besides changing of name of  Superintendent Grade I to Administrative Officer would be sent to personnel department. Mr. Kangar said that the demand of Union to reduce the eligibility ofg promotion would  also be send to the department. On an another demand of the Union, the Minister also assured them that he would consider their demand of reducing the existing quota of direct  recruitment for Clerks to Senior Assistants from existing 25% to 15% and enhancing the promotion quota from 75% to 85%.
