The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar today convened a meeting to review functioning of the Education Sector of the district. JD Planning, CEO, Deputy CEO, DEPO, ZEOs and other concerned attended the meeting.The CEO Anantnag informed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements registered under various schemes.The DDC asked the concerned officers to expedite the pace and ensure the timely completion of ongoing projects including the construction of school buildings, separate toilet blocks for boys and girls and playfields.He direcyed for conducting awareness drives to increasing role of students in government schools.He asked the officers to focus on organizing curricular activities including debates, seminars and sports activities for the all-round development of the students, besides conducting educational tours.The DDC asked for organizing awareness programmes in far flung areas regarding the importance of girl child education. He assured that all possible support will be made available to education department to make it more vibrant and result oriented.
