The Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today convened a meeting to review the progress under Kisan Credit Card Scheme.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad, heads of various line departments, Lead Bank Manager and other concerned.The meeting was informed that there are 24612 KCC accounts in various banks of the district. The DC stressed on creating awareness among the masses so that all the beneficiaries are linked to the banks under the scheme.He said that the administration is launching a special drive to enroll new beneficiaries to avail the benefits of the scheme.The DC urged the farmers to get themselves registered within 15-days at the nearest bank, Tehsil office or in concerned department.During the meeting, a district level Monitoring Committee head by ADC was also constituted to monitor the enrollment process under the scheme while Tehsil level committees were also constituted to monitor the process. The committees were asked to submit weekly report in this regard to ensure enrollment of beneficiaries. The DC urged the officers to complete the process in a mission mode through a sustained drive to achieve 100 per cent coverage under the scheme by March. He also asked the officers to link the accounts with Aadhar so as to remove duplication, if any.
