The One day interaction programme was organized under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at District Employment Office Shopian, here today. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin constituted District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC). The Committee will interact with youth. The District Industries Center (DIC) being the sponsoring agency of Shopian has received proposals for consideration and the Centre has recommended many cases to the various financial institutes of the district.As many as 317 youth from various areas of the district including 73 KVIC, 64 KVIB and 180 from DIC Shopian participated in the interaction.The DDC said that the institutes will continue to play a pivotal role in creating self-employment culture among the youth. He urged youth to come forward and take benefit from the centrally sponsored schemes which will make them able to earn their livelihood, besides becoming job providers. The DDC said that the aim of the programme is to generate jobs in both rural as well as urban areas, by way of self-employment ventures and micro enterprises. He said it also aims at reviewing the tradition of village artisanship.Bankers, sponsoring agencies and other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
