Rt. Rev. Bishop Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar today met the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.Bishop Ivan Pereira informed the Lt Governor about various social, educational and humanitarian works undertaken by the Catholic Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar. He expressed hope that the new UT administration will fulfill the aspirations of the people of J&K and projected issue pertaining to the regularization of jobs of Safai Karamcharis. He further briefed the Lt Governor about the upcoming humanitarian programme for the care of the destitute.The Lt Governor assured Bishop Pereira to examine the issue projected by him and urged him to continue promoting peace, communal brotherhood and public welfare through his sustained endeavours.Sr. Hema, Principal, Presentation Convent School; Sr. Swati, Principal, Carmel Convent School and Fr. Shaiju Chacko, Director, Catholic Social Service Society were also present on the occasion.
