Pharmacists association of Bandipora on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against block medical officer Bandipora for assaulting their colleague in his office chamber.According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)— the protesting pharmacsists alleged that the BMO Bandipora Dr. Ashfaq assaulted their colleague Iqbal Hamid in his office chamber today morning.The held protest demonstration in the premises of district hospital Bandipora. They raised slogans against the BMO and demanded action against him. They said that the BMO assaulted their colleague so bad that he received injuries on his head and was shifted to DH Bandipora for treatment.Iqbal Hamid, a pharmacists alleged was assaulted by BMO, told KNO that the BMO threw a stool towards him for coming late to the office."When I entered the office chamber of the BMO, he asked me why I can late and in the fit of rage he tree a stool towards me, resulting in injuries to my head. This is not the way to treat an employee for coming late to office. He could have initiated official action against me and not assaulted me, " he said.The pharmacists demanded action against the BMO and threatened to go on strike if action was not initiated against him. "We will go on strike from tomorrow inwards if the authorities failed to initiate action against him. This is sheer hooliganism the way he has treated his employee, " they said.When contacted BMO Bandipora Dr. Ashfaq over phone for his comments on the issues he said that he will call back and hung up the phone. Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Tajamul said that he will investigate the matter. (KNO)
