Marking a step towards financial empowerment and financial inclusion of hitherto uncovered sections of society, the Department of Labour, District Jammu, today registered labourers in the form of Micro Credit Cards.The Micro Credit Cards with credit facility of Rs 10,000 were distributed to the eligible workers at an awareness camp, here at  Phinder Bishnah.The function was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Sourabh Bhagat; Labour Commissioner J&K, Abdul Rashid War; Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu, Kanta Devi and several other officials of the department.In his address, the Commissioner Secretary acknowledged the efforts and the resolution of the department to start New Year 2020 with  the financial  empowerment of the workers, for whom the department is meant.Meanwhile, he also listened to the grievances of the public viz - viz labour department on one to one basis and assured them of speedy disposal.He exhorted the officers and the officials of the department to take a pledge on the eve of the New Year to make extra efforts for delivering best possible and hassle free services to the targeted lot.The Labour Commissioner J&K spoke about the recently launched pension scheme by the government of India for workers and motivated the departmental officials for working as a team for its effective implementation.Later, the Commissioner Secretary presented labour Micro Credit Cards to the registered Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW). Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Labour Jammu, Devia Nanda, welcomed the guests and the participants. She also apprised the audience about various schemes of the labour department.The function concluded with the vote of thanks by the Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu and the members of the Panchayat Phinder village.
