With the initiation of Central Govt for one district, one focal point scheme, Punjab has chosen the 19 district focal points across the state which will be revamped soon. Informed, Sibin C while addressing the industry representatives at the ongoing Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) on Sunday.He said that the to strengthen the basic industrial infrastructure, 19 districts for focal points have been identified and nearly Rs 200 crores is being invested to revamp in each focal point. He said that for empowering the industry, State Govt is giving Rs 2500 Crores subsidy on annual basis whereas only Rs 2300 crores is only meant for power subsidy. Govt has specifically directed the district administration to meet their problems for timely solutions. Present on the occasion, RS Sachdeva, Mentor, Punjab Chapter, PHDCCI said in wake of tremendous response towards such expos, PHD Chamber has decided to organize PITEX in Ludhiana also to benefit the industry. Karan Gilhotra, Chairman,Punjab State Chapter, PHDCCI thanked local administration for their overwhelming support which lent the success to this event. Sanjay Aggarwal, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber mentioned that on the pattern of one district one product policy in Uttar Pradesh, each district focused product policy should be implemented in Punjab. Ms Madhu Pillai, Regional Director and Jaideep Singh, Amritsar, Convener,PHDCCI were also present on the occasion.
